Simon’s Heroes are a Tamworth based charity who raise money and help children in need. On The Tools have regularly teamed up with the children’s charity and last year, we lent a helping hand to help a local window fitter who’s son was suffering from neuroblastoma.
Simon’s Heroes heard about window fitter Ashley Round, his son Charlie and their family and wanted to help. Therefore, with the support of On The Tools and tradesmen from across the UK, they were able to revamp the Round family’s garden for Charlie and his sister Olivia to enjoy.
And now, On The Tools are teaming up with Simon’s Heroes once again, along with the Band of Builders, to help over one hundred children in need! The plan is to build a sensory garden for the children at Rocklands School in Lichfield who have severe to moderate learning difficulties. Read all about the proposed work and how you could lend a helping hand here.
Set up by tiler Mark Bennett, and a group of friends, Simon’s Heroes was initially put together to honour the memory of their friend with a charity football match. However, after the event came and went, they decided to keep going and help more and more people.
And now, Simon’s Heroes are being recognised for all of their amazing work in a local charity event. They have been nominated for Sainsbury’s ‘Charity of the Year’. They’re up against some big charities and have worked hard to get where they are now. So, to win, they need your help.
