A mother of two has recently been left fuming after she awoke to discover that thieves had stolen the astroturf from her front garden.

The mum, from Livingstone took to Facebook to describe her anger when she awoke on Sunday morning to find her front garden was gone. Sue Scorer wrote: “Absolutely fuming.”

“Some scumbags knocked our fence down and stole the astro turf from my front garden through the night. Ladywell, Livingston.”

“It has been down nearly 4 years and never been touched.”

“The kids toys haven’t been touched and they had to move an 8ft trampoline to get it.”

“If anyone hears or sees anyone selling it please let me know.”

“My kids are going to be devastated when they come back.”

She described to STV: “I thought I was dreaming.”

“I woke up on Sunday morning and was washing my hands when I looked out my window and saw that the trampoline was on the other side of the garden.”

“I opened the window to see what was going on and saw all the grass was gone and the fence was down.”

“The kids are really upset.”

“The kids’ toys had been moved around the garden.”

“One of the toys was over in the neighbours’ because they must have had to move them all to get the grass up.”

“It had to be planned.”

“There was no way someone was just strolling past and decided to take it.”

“It was put down four years ago – we had the front and the back garden done, which cost around £3,000.”

“I was so shocked because it’s been down for four years, it’s not like it was freshly laid.”

“And there are marks on it from where the trampoline was and the kids have been playing.”

“It is scary to think people were in my garden while I was asleep inside.”

“Thankfully the boys weren’t here on Saturday night.”

“The kids are really upset.”

“My eight-year-old is always outside playing football and kids from the area are always round in the garden playing, so it’s devastating.”

It wasn’t just this family that were affected though. One of their neighbours also added that they too had some astroturf stolen that same night. Investigations are now underway to find out who stole the artificial grass.
