It’s Friday, it’s 12:15 pm so that can mean only one thing, it’s time for… Quids In. This week, the show was hosted by Jamie the Elf and we teamed up with the big man himself. The one, the only… Father Christmas!

And, this week, we were giving away hundreds of pounds worth of prizes in our jolly Christmas special! But, first, we kicked things off with some news…

News Headline!

Tradespeople have been named the most generous workers when it comes to giving Secret Santa gifts!

According to research by Wonga, builders, electricians and plumbers were found to be the most generous professions, spending the most money on their colleagues.

It was found that on average, more than 1 in 5 tradespeople spend between £21 and £25 on their fellow workers. In comparison to this, the national average for Secret Santa presents is just £13. So what do you think of this? Do you splash the cash on your workmates? Let us know!

But, before Andy could discuss things any further though, the competition claxon sounded for cement mixer lottery. Here, our audience had the chance to win seven Hamilton Next Generation Paint Brushes, a pack of 3 Purdy Paint Brushes, a Brewer’s Decorator Centre t-shirt and Paint Kettle, and also a 130 piece drill bit set!

But how could they win? Well, they just had to guess the lucky number… FOUR!

With one competition down though, it was now time for our next segment of the show: caption this!

Caption This!

The aim of the game here is for our audience to simply caption the image they see on the screen. Easy! Plus, if they come up with a belter of a caption, they could even win an OTT hoodie!

This week, the image showed some legs poking out the top of the chimney. Looks like Santa’s a bit stuck!

Luckily though, before Andy could come up with any more terrible captions, it was time for our second competition: wheel of fortune! Here, our audience had the chance to win a 4 & 1/2” Hitachi Angle Grinder! And, to be in with a chance of winning it, all our audience had to do was guess the number… SIX!

Two competitions down and two more to go, this officially marked the halfway part of the show. But what’s next I hear you ask? Well, it’s time for top tips.

Top Tips!

This week, Andy only had the one tip but it was definitely a belter!

Tip 1: Boxing day sales already available in some stores!

It may not be Christmas yet, but the ‘Boxing Day’ sales have already started in some cases. And, we expect that many more will follow this week and next. So, here are just a few of the best ones:
Topman and Topshop (60% off).
Gap (60% off).
Kurt Geiger (60% off).
Miss Selfridge (50% off).

So if you haven’t got all of your Christmas shopping done yet then check out some of these sales and you could be… Quids In!

Speaking of which, it was now time for our third competition: blindfold darts. Heading over to the Blindfold Darts Arena, James was with Jaye who was blindfolded and ready to throw the darts. And this time, the audience had the chance to win an 18-volt Lithium-ion Dewalt Combi Drill with two batteries and an ITS Remote Control Truck. To be in with a chance of winning, all they had to do was guess the lucky number… ELEVEN!

Three competitions won, and with just one more competition to go, it was now time for our next part of the show… shoutouts!

This is the part of the show where our audience can get involved live on air and bag themselves a shoutout. Not only that, but we also honour our hero of the week too. Here, we talk about a tradesperson who has gone above and beyond in the industry.

This week, our hero is… you guys!

We want to say a huge thank you to all of our followers for supporting us this year. We couldn’t do this without you lot, you’re the reason we exist. If you’ve liked, commented or shared any of our videos then we want to thank you.

Also, a really really huge thank you to everyone who voted and supported us at Pitch@Palace which, of course, we went on to WIN! The chippies, the plumbers, the ground workers, even the health and safety officers… All of you, the boots on the ground, we salute you!

And, so, we were giving our fantastic audience one last chance to win on this week’s episode with our final competition mug shot. This is where our man Jamie tries to throw as many of his 12 tea bags into the oversized mug hoop as possible. And, recently, despite a rocky start, Jamie has been smashing it. At one point, he even managed to get seven!

And, this week, it was all to play for as our audience also had the chance to win a 32 inch LED LG TV! And the lucky winner chose the number… EIGHT. It’s a Christmas miracle!

So that’s it, the end of our show. All that was left to say now was a massive thank you to everyone who took part and also a massive thank you to our audience who have supported us through 2018. A huge thank you to all you tradies out there keeping the country running! And we hope you all have a great Christmas and New Year!
