Recently, a twenty-year-old roofer from Watford tragically died in a car accident in Australia. This was just days before his twenty-first birthday in which he was planning on flying back to the UK to surprise his family and friends.
Unfortunately though, roofer Jake Franklin-Beck never made it back. Living his dream and working in Australia, Jake was known to fill a room with smiles and laughter. However, on the 25th of April, his life tragically ended.
But now, his family face another battle, getting his body home. At the moment, it is stuck in Australia and will cost £18,000 to be returned to the UK. This is a huge sum of money that Jake’s family cannot afford to pay. Therefore, his friends have made the decision to try and help.
Their plan is to raise as much money as possible for the family in order to give Jake the funeral he deserves. Ideally, they would like to raise £21,000 to help cover the cost of flying his body home and organising the funeral. However, with thousands still left to go, they need some help.

His friends describe that Jake was, “a football fanatic Chelsea fan, a roofer who climbed like a monkey. a boy that gave everything he could every day he lived, to his family, his friends, and to his general dedication to life itself.”
“A boy that gave everything he could every day he lived, to his family, his friends, and to his general dedication to life itself.”
They continued: “donations for this cause will be greatly respected and appreciated.”
“And I know the man himself will be over the moon, with anyone who helped his family at this difficult time.”
