Unique and truly one of a kind, the On The Tools awards rewards tradespeople across the UK based on the votes of those who matter, the boots on the ground. And now, with the awards fast approaching, it’s time for you lot to cast your vote! Today, we’re looking at those shortlisted for the ‘Roofer of the Year’ award, sponsored by builder’s merchant Jewson.
First on the shortlist is Jordan Johnson.
Starting off as a weekend labourer, Jordan has really come far within the industry. He described: “It would be a huge accomplishment for me to win the On The Tools ‘Roofer of the Year’ award as it would show just how far I have come.”
In his work, Jordan aims to deliver absolute quality in every aspect. Alongside this, he also recognises the importance of educating the younger, potential tradesmen of the future. Therefore, he also devotes some of his time to teaching young trainees and inspiring the next generation of roofers.
Jordan added: “Winning this award would really help develop my reputation as a professional, passionate and reliable roofer.”
But, Jordan isn’t the only roofer up for this award.
Instead, he is also joined by roofer Tom Savage!
Working hard, Tom has his own business, which, over the past eighteen months, has taken a lot of hard work and dedication to get it to the successful point that it is at now. He described: “I’m delighted to be nominated for the On the Tools Awards.”
Working hard in the industry, Tom’s family have also seen how hard Tom has worked to get where he is now. Tom added: “I would love to win it [the award] mainly because of how much it would mean to my fiancé and 3 children.”
“I think that they think I’ll be famous!”
