The Morgan Foundation was set up in 2001 with the intention of helping out families in need. This was set up by Steve Morgan, a construction based businessman who donated shares from his company to the charity.

Overall, Morgan gave the charity 11% of the shares for his construction company Redrow PLC. This accounted to 42 million shares in the company worth a whopping £207 million!

Understandably, this has had a massive impact upon the charity. The administrator describes: “Steve Morgan’s incredible generosity will mean a huge and profound step-change for The Morgan Foundation.”

“Steve’s gift of over £200 million means we will be able to help thousands of more people in need.”

The Morgan Foundation supports over 450 charities so this money will help go a long way to providing disadvantage families with the help they need. The charity described that one way they will be using the money is by increasing “the donation of smiley busses which have made such a positive impact to the disabled and socially isolated in our region.”

Not only that, but the charity also described that they are “actively planning some very exciting, and significant, capital projects.”
