In our ‘How To’ series, we’ve described how to make some pretty cool things. From petrol can minibars to Jack Daniel’s lamps, we’ve looked at some unique pieces that would look great in anyone’s man cave. However, with a novelty lamp and a cool mini bar to store your drinks in, there’s one thing that we’ve been missing: something to drink out of!

Therefore, we decided to take a look at how you can make your very own, custom glasses. Now, first up, you’re going to need some empty bottles. Of course, how you choose to empty these are completely up to you but we suggest you choose something you like because every last drop needs to be gone.

Following this, you can then get started on cutting the bottle. There are many different ways of cutting glass, some elaborate and others more basic. But, for this job, we decided to go for one of the more simpler methods.

Scoring the bottle, use a glass cutter first to mark the place where you would like the glass to break.

Following that, you will need to make sure that you have both hot and cold water set up and ready to hand. Then, place the glass alternatively between the hot and cold water until the bottle begins to break. After some time, the bottle should break where you previously scored the line.

After this, you’ll want to make sure to sand down the rough edges of the bottle though. You don’t want to be drinking out of a sharp glass!

And then, finally, the best bit: you get to pour yourself a drink!

Take a look at the full process here:
