November 1st 2018 brought the biggest and best On The Tools Awards yet! Hosted at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, this was the third edition of the event. Gathering the construction community under one roof, the awards were all about recognising the many dedicated tradespeople and distinguished brands that make the industry what it is.
This is the second year that the event was held at the iconic home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club. With a total of 350 in attendance, the night was a perfect balance of tradespeople, construction brands, sponsors and industry experts.
The evening began with a drinks reception (inclusive of an OTT branded Vodka Luge) and a Mariachi band setting the mood for the celebration. Wine and food flowed before stand-up comedian Justin Moorhouse (who was joining us as our host for the third year in a row), set the perfect tone for the event, keeping everyone entertained and laughing for the duration of the ceremony.
A total of 25 categories (both Trade and Brands) were presented with our iconic OTT logo style awards to honour their commitment and reputation in the industry. You can find our full list of winners right here.
Once all the awards were presented, the night continued with an incredible live band ‘The Warning Tones’. They ensured the dance floor was packed until the venue closed. Everyone would have stayed much later if they could have!
All in all, the night was a huge success. Not forgetting a huge shout out to Jewson, our headline sponsor for the third year in a row. 2018 also secured a super impressive list of category sponsors too. We need to give a big thank you to Tactical Threads, Armstead, Band of Builders, Evo-Stik, Grange, Checkatrade, Isuzu, Lasher Tools, Norbord, Premdor, Wienerberger, Plumbers-M8, Real Deals For You, Ring, Univar and WD-40.
Charity donations and raffles!
With all the awards, bands, booze and laughter, there couldn’t be much more we could fit into the night surely? Well, in OTT style, we like to take things that little bit further. Along with the festivities and the awards, a donation raffle and contributions were made on the evening to support Band of Builders. In this, we were able to raise a brilliant £2,120 for the charity!
So there you have it, the On The Tools awards 2018! All that’s left now is for all of us here at the OTT team to thank everybody who helped make the event possible. And, send a massive congratulations to all of the category winners, we hope you use your accolade with great pride!
So what do you think? Did you attend the awards? Or want to be involved next year? Let us know!
