He’s back from another holiday, finally! No more for you Andy Taylor, you need to be presenting Quids In! Not that we don’t love Dan of course but this week, we were joined by none other than our main man Andy and our incredible sponsors ITS!

We were in for an incredible show this week as our audience had the chance to win more than £1,100 worth of prizes including bundle packs with ITS goodies and vouchers to spend with them! There’ll be plenty of things for them to choose from too with 8,000 lines in stock, ready for next day delivery. ITS even have a comprehensive range of all the big power tool brands as well including, Makita, Dewalt, Milwaukee, Festool, Bosch and Stanley. They’ll be spoilt for choice.

And on that note, let’s get on with the show!

News Headlines!

‘Apparently, tradespeople in the UK are the most health & safety conscious!’

Yes, that’s right! Despite what you see online, UK tradespeople are reportedly supposed to be the most cautious when it comes to health and safety. In fact, the survey found that 56% of UK tradespeople stopped work several times a day or more in order to meet health and safety requirements!

And, compared to our European comparisons such as France and Spain, we are a lot more health and safety conscious! But what do you lot think?

Next up, we also had: ‘Criminals taking to construction to build mini ‘mansions’ for stray cats.’

Now, bare with us on this one, this headline does sound a bit weird but let us explain things a little more. Criminals are reportedly taking to construction as part of a Community Payback scheme for those working community sentences. Unlike your usual litter picking, this programme allows criminals to learn new skills whilst helping keep stray cats safe and warm.

Within this, they are also learning how to use machinery such as circular saws and working on designing and building products too. Plus, the pads mean a safe place for the cats to sleep, bonus!

And on that note, the competition claxon sounded and it was time for our first competition, cement mixer lottery. Courtesy of ITS, we were giving away a bundle worth £180. But what’s in it? Well there’s an…
– ITS 130 Piece Drill Bit Set
– ITS 21 Piece Screwdriver and Bit Set
– ITS 12 in 1 Screwdriver set
– ITS Remote Control Truck
– ITS Multi-Tool Plier
– ITS Boot Bag
– ITS 8m Tape measure
– ITS Mug
– ITS Thermos flask
– ITS Hoodie
– ITS T-Shirt (Pack of 3)
– ITS Brolly

And, to be in with a chance of winning all this, our audience just had to guess the lucky number… 11!

With one competition down though, it was now time for our second segment of the show, caption this!

Caption This!

This is the part of the show where we have our audience comment on what they think the caption should be for the image on the screen. This week, it was an image of hard hats being used as hanging baskets. To this, Andy actually came up with some decent ones including: ‘alternative plant hire?’ and ‘hats off to this flower display?’

Did his break do him some good? Because those captions weren’t actually that bad!

It wasn’t long though before the competition claxon sounded once again though and it was time for our second competition: Wheel of Fortune! Thanks to ITS, we were giving away a £100 ITS Voucher to spend in any of their stores. Plus, another goodie bundle!

ITS have a sale starting today as well and ending on Monday the 10th of September. It’s running alongside their £5 million clearance event as well so there’s never a better time to get even more for your money! You’ll definitely be Quids In after that!

As if that wasn’t good enough, ITS were also offering the following package to anyone that placed an order using the promo code OTT. Within this, they’d get a free ITS 8m Tape, ITS Mug and an ITS Multi-Tool Plier. Bonus! If you want to get in on that click here.

Plus, our audience still had the chance to win a bundle for free. And, all they had to do to be in with a chance was guess the lucky number… 10!

With two competitions down though, we were now officially halfway through our show. But, what’s next I hear you ask? Well, it can only be one thing surely. It’s time for top tips!

Top Tips!

This is the part of the show where we try and help UK tradespeople keep more money in their pockets. By using these top tips, we hope that people will manage to stay… QUIDS IN!

Tip 1: Ryan Air baggage changes. Ryan air is cutting their hand luggage AGAIN. Yep, the budget airline is reducing its hand luggage policy with its passengers only being able to take a handbag sized bag onto the plane. Bye bye travelling with hand luggage then!

If you do wish to take a second piece of hand luggage on board with you though then you’ll have to pay £6 for priority boarding. And, watch out, if you turn up with a bag too big, you could end up having to pay £25 to check it into the hold!

Tip 2: Quidco Cashback site. You could get money back every time you buy something online! In fact, you could be saving yourself hundreds of pounds by using sites such as Quidco and getting money back on the things you’d be purchasing anyway.

In fact, on average, active Quidco members can bag themselves £300 a year! And there’s no limit to how much you can earn either so take a look to see if you could be earning yourself some extra dosh and be… QUIDS IN!

Speaking of being Quids In it was now time for our third competition: Blindfold Darts! Heading over to the Blindfold Darts Arena, Scott was with Jess who was back and blindfolded ready to throw the darts. This time, our audience had the chance to win another £100 ITS voucher and goodie bag. All they had to do to be in with a chance of winning was pick the number thirteen!

Three competitions won, and with just one more to go, it was now time for the next part of our show… shoutouts!

This is where our audience has the chance to get involved live on air and bag themselves a shoutout. Not only that, but we also honour our hero of the week too. Here, we talk about a tradesperson who has gone above and beyond in the industry.

This week, we honoured not one hero but a whole team, The Lighthouse Club.

These guys are a construction charity that provides financial and emotional support to the construction community and their families. They’ve got a project going on in Worcestershire at the moment and are always looking for donations from the public.

They’ve done some amazing work and over the years, they’ve distributed over £17.5 million to over 16,500 construction workers and their families. Amazing work!

But, before Andy could talk about things any further, the competition claxon sounded again and it was time for our final competition and this week, we were doing something a little bit different. This time, we drove an ITS RC Trucks into 15 skittles and all our audience had to do was guess how many would be knocked down. Simple! But what could they win? Well, it was only a £200 ITS voucher and goodie bag wasn’t it! Bonus! And, all they had to do was guess the winning number… 12!

And that’s it, the end of our show. All that was left to say now was a massive thank you to everyone who took part and our sponsor’s ITS. See you next time!
