Hello and welcome to this week’s episode of Quids In, our weekly Facebook live show where we aim to keep more money in the pockets of UK tradespeople. This week, we had the fantastic Andy Taylor back and ready to present a special episode sponsored by the brilliant ITS.
They have over 18,000 lines in stock with ‘All The Tools You Need’ ready for next day delivery. Not only that, but they also have a comprehensive range of all the big power tool brands too including, Makita, Dewalt, Milwaukee, Festool, Bosch and Stanley. Plus, with their 600-page catalogue and over 30,000 5 star customer reviews, you can’t go wrong with a bit of ITS!
Therefore, throughout today’s show, we gave away a whole host of ITS prizes worth over a whopping £1,000! So sit back, relax, and let’s kick the show off with some news headlines…
Apparently, one of the most annoying things for tradespeople is when customers call them ‘mate’. In fact, a recent study has found that a lot of things annoy tradespeople and these are the top things that customers do and workers hate:
1. Small talk.
2. Act like a worker is uneducated.
3. Not offering a drink.
4. Pretending like they know what they’re talking about.
5. Putting on a working-class accent.
Annoying! But what are the biggest things that annoy you lot? Let us know.
But, before Andy could tell us all about what grinds his gears though, the competition claxon sounded for our first giveaway, cement mixer lottery. Here, our audience had the chance to win a £200 voucher and an ITS remote control truck. And, to be in with a chance of winning them, all our audience had to do was guess the lucky number… SIX!
With one competition down, it was now time for our second segment of the show, caption this!
This is the part of the show where we have our audience comment on what they think the caption should be for the image on the screen. This week, it was an image of a clamp holding a phone. Apprentice’s selfie stick maybe?
Well, by guessing a caption our audience had the chance to win an ITS remote control truck. Speaking of chances to win, it wasn’t long before the competition claxon sounded again either for our second giveaway, wheel of fortune. This time, our audience also had the chance to win an ITS goodie bundle which includes: an ITS 130 Piece Drill Bit Set, 21 Piece Screwdriver and Bit Set, 12 in 1 Screwdriver Set, Multi-Tool Plier, a boot bag, 8m tape measure, an ITS mug, thermos flask, hoodie, T-shirt (pack of 3) and ITS brolly.
Phew, that’s a lot of prizes! And to be in with a chance of winning all of them, all our audience had to do was guess the number… TWO!
With two competitions down, we were now officially halfway through our show. But, what’s next I hear you ask? Well, it can only be one thing surely. It’s time for top tips!

Speaking of being Quids In, it was now time for our third competition. And, we were mixing things up a bit with Interactive Truck Skittles… get it? ITS… Anyway, we were taking an ITS remote control truck and driving it into nine skittles. And, to be in with a chance of winning an ITS goodie bundle and a £100 ITS voucher, all our audience had to do was guess how many would be knocked down. This time, it was the lucky number… SEVEN!
Three competitions won, and with just one more to go, it was now time for the next part of our show… shoutouts!
This is where our audience has the chance to get involved live on air and bag themselves a shoutout. Not only that, but we also honour our hero of the week too. Here, we talk about a tradesperson who has gone above and beyond in the industry.
This week, we mixed things up a bit and honoured a member of the On The Tools team. Our very own Video Producer Mat Butler was on his way home last week when he witnessed the aftermath of a car crash in which a sixty-year-old man had been hit by a car.
When Mat got to him, unfortunately, the gentleman had sustained multiple injuries and also, at this point, had stopped breathing! Springing to action, Mat gave the elderly gentleman mouth to mouth CPR, keeping him alive until the ambulance arrived and was able to resuscitate him.
So, we wanted to honour our fantastic Mat for saving this man’s life! Incredible!
But, before Andy could talk about things any further, the competition claxon sounded again and it was time for our final competition, Mug Shot. Here, our audience had the chance to win an ITS goodie bundle and a £100 ITS voucher. With Jamie off on his holidays though, it was up to our Quids In Extra host Joe to step in and take on the challenge.
We all had high hopes for him too. He couldn’t be worse than Jamie could he? And, we weren’t disappointed. With a bit of a shaky start, Joe pulled it back and managed to land an impressive… FIVE!
And that’s it, the end of our show. All that was left to say now was a massive thank you to everyone who took part and our sponsor’s ITS. See you next time!
