It’s Thursday! It’s 12:15 pm! What’s it time for? It’s time for Quids In of course!
Yep, we hosted an extra live show this week at the NEC with Jewson Live. As always, we had a whole heap of fun with tips, competitions, news and also shoutouts. And, thanks to our friends at Jewson Live, we were giving away almost £2,ooo worth of prizes!
But first, it was time for some news…
Yep, the tax giants are well and truly in the festive spirit as millions of workers, including those in construction, could be able to claim a cheeky little rebate from them this holiday season. But why?
Well, as part of the job, sometimes, you might need to dip into your own pocket. This could be for something like replacing/repairing small tools, maintaining your work branded uniform or work mileage. All of these are work-related expenses and, if you’re paid via PAYE, you could get some money back for them!
So, workers are being urged to go online and check it out. If eligible, your rebate will be processed and in your account in just three weeks. Perfect in time for Christmas! Take a look to see whether you could be missing out on some extra cash here. And you could be… Quids In!
Speaking of which, the competition claxon sounded and it was time for our very first giveaway. And, not only did we have the fantastic prize of a Sony PlayStation 4 to giveaway, but we also had a very special guest… It’s only Chris Kamara!
Joining us live, it was up to Kammy to choose our lucky winner. Picking a ball at random it was the number… NINE!
With one competition down, it was now time for our second segment of the show, caption this!
This is the part of the show where we have our audience comment on what they think the caption should be for the image on the screen. This week, it was an image of a tradesman with a rather interesting looking haircut…
Luckily though, before Andy could come up with some especially terrible jokes about Nike, the competition claxon sounded again for the wheel of fortune! And, thanks to our friends at Jewson, we were giving away a 128GB Apple iPad Wifi.
To be in with a chance of winning it, all our audience had to do was guess the correct number between one and twelve. And this week, it was the lucky number… NINE! Again!
We were on a roll and with two competitions down, we were now officially halfway through our show. But, what’s next I hear you ask? Well, it can only be one thing surely. It’s time for top tips!
Tip 1: Get 100% cashback on purchases!
Regular cashback sites such as Topcashback and Quidco offer a percentage of cashback but, Boom25 is a little different. Usually, they offer one in twenty-five people the full cost of their purchase back. But, for a limited time, you’ll have a one in ten chance of getting 100% cashback.
It’s running until 11.59 pm on Sunday the 23rd of December so check out more info on the Money Saving Expert website to bag yourself some cashback on the run-up to Christmas!
Tip 2: Get involved with Juice by Jewson!
If you’re a Jewson customer, you can get Juice points on every item you buy. Yep, even on a Chocolate bar! And we all know what points make… Prizes! You can collect all the points and then exchange them for some incredible prizes including iPhones, MacBooks, holidays, experience days, there’s so much to choose from! So, if you want to get in on this then find out more here.
There’s also plenty of branches to visit too with locations from up in Scotland all the way down to Cornwall. You’re never far from a Jewson branch. So get involved!
Tip 3: Head down to Jewson Live at the NEC!
Not only would you have the chance to meet the one and only Chris Kamara, but Jewson Live is also jam-packed full of different stalls too. It’s got free entry, free parking, free drinks, free food. It’s a no-brainer!
Plus, with some of the exclusive deals you’ll also be able to find here too, you could be… Quids In!
Speaking of which, it was now time for our third competition, blindfold darts. Here, our audience had the opportunity to win a Nintendo Switch! All they had to do was guess which number Dan would hit at the Blindfold Darts Arena. And, this week it was the number… TEN!
Three competitions won, and with just one more to go, it was now time for the next part of our show… shoutouts!
This is where our audience has the chance to get involved live on air and bag themselves a shoutout. Not only that, but we also honour our hero of the week too. Here, we talk about a tradesperson who has gone above and beyond in the industry.
This week, we did something a little bit different though and our hero joined us on stage at Jewson Live to talk all about the Band of Builders. Andrew is a part of this incredible group of tradespeople who go up and down the country to help other tradespeople in need.
A charitable organisation, they’re run by tradesmen for tradesmen and what they try to do is help other tradespeople and/or their families who have life-changing/altering conditions in any way they can to make their lives easier.
They are changing peoples lives for the better and all out of the goodness of their hearts. There’s no money involved and all the work done by the trades is completely voluntary. So, if you’d like to get involved with this fantastic cause, all you need to do is head to their website or Facebook page to sign up and you can help those in need!
Before Andy could discuss things any further though, it was time for our final competition, mug shot! The aim of the game here is to guess how many tea bags our man Jamie can get in the oversized mug. Last week, he set a record-breaking seven!
And, this week, it was all to play for with our audience having the opportunity to win a 64GB iPhone XR courtesy of our friends at Jewson. Starting off strong, unfortunately, in the end, Jamie only managed to get… THREE!
And that was it, the end of our show. All that was left to say now was a massive thank you to everyone who took part and also our fantastic sponsors Jewson Live for all the brilliant prizes!
