Well, it could take a lot because apparently only 40% of young British people know how to actually change a lightbulb.

That’s not where it ends though. The survey also revealed that 70% of 18-24 year olds didn’t know how to descale a kettle. Two thirds of respondents of this age also didn’t know how to change a fuse in a plug!

The survey also demonstrated that Google is a more popular means to correct these problems, instead of hiring a tradesman. More people tend to be researching online and watching Youtube videos for advice, rather than contacting a professional.

It was concluded that 73% of young people cannot fix a leaking tap. 55% also cannot hang up wallpaper and a further 53% cannot put up a shelf. Finally, 44% cannot unblock a toilet. Ouch.
